Topic: Recorder quick report problems

I have just tried to export some data on two taxa using Recorder's "quick report" function. The reports generated found 44 and 408 records respectively, but appeared to be missing records from at least one survey. I tried again using the Recorder Report wizard and found over 3,000 reocrds for the two taxa in our database! clearly the quick report function is not picking up all the records, has anyone else come across this problem, and if so is there a fix?

thanks

Re: Recorder quick report problems

I will need to look in more detail at what  is is doing as it isn't something I know too much about. I will get back to you when I have had a chance to investigate.

Re: Recorder quick report problems

Are all the records in the site itself? I know that the quick reports don't pick up any records from subsites, but using the report wizard subsites are included by default.

Please can let me know which quick report your are running and how it is being run.

Re: Recorder quick report problems

The records were from all over Essex, so would not have been grouped into subsites. I was running the quick report by right clicking on taxa from the mammals list and clicking on "quick report" and then a template that i have set up in the report wizard. Running the Report wizard using the same template picked up the extra records.

does this help?

Re: Recorder quick report problems

This might be because the quick report has never been updated to work across lists, so it will only pick up what has specifically been entered using the Mammals list.  If  the taxa   have been entered from any other list then they will not be picked up. Could this fit your situation ?

Re: Recorder quick report problems

I think this is unlikely as the data that is missing is from a dataset of bat records so they should all have been imported using just the Mammals list - the datasets that are showing up are more likely to have been matched using other lists if anything, as they will have contained a mixture of taxonomic groups.

Re: Recorder quick report problems

Thanks. I will dig a bit deeper. Three things I have discovered so far

1. The quick report only finds taxa entered from the list used for thr reporting, not those from other lists even if the name is the same.
2. Synonyms are picked up, but only if they are on list used for reporting.
3. It does not including confidential records.
