Topic: reassign data custody

Hi

I have exported data from a contributors records, ticked the reassign data custody, typed in my own site ID.
However when I have uploaded it won't allow me to change abundance counts. It will allow me to delete the entry entirely.

We left all of the boxes ticked in the what do you want to transfer option box,  We did not tick a box called something like verify data.

Do you know what we are doing wrong?

This is the metadata that comes up for an entry:

he record was created by on 22/02/2016.

The unique record identifier is LC000479000000L3.

This Taxon Occurrence was imported from database LC000479.

The custody of this Taxon Occurrence is held by Site ID

Re: reassign data custody

Looks like for some reason the new site has been set to blank. This may be a software bug, but I am not aware of it.  I would expect the last line actually show the Custodian site id.  Can you check the meta data on a  few of the imported sample and events. Do they show a Site ID for the custodian ?

Do you know which version of the R6 you were exporting from ?

If we can identify which tables are involved I can provide a Batch update to fix the problem, but I rwould like to know what caused it in the first place.

Re: reassign data custody

The data that was exported previously by this person was fine and contained my site ID.

None of the data that has been sent over the last week does.

He is using the same version of recorder 6 as me - .23.

A batch up date will be fine except that this person is hopefully going to be entering data for a couple of years and sending to me weekly updates.

A box called do not validate comes up in the export box - should we tick that?

Re: reassign data custody

I need to understand why the Custodian has been deleted. This just shouldn't happen, I will run some tests.  If possible could you provide me with a copy of the export file.

Ticking the do 'Do not validate'   box will  export records which have failed the Standard validation.  You shouldn't be ticking this box.

On the system supplying the data can they still  change the exported records an what does the its how under meta data on their records.
