Topic: The login failed

I have tried to backup my database.  Took a while to find a folder that it would backup into, eventually selected documents but now can't find the backup.  Also copied the entire recorder 6 file and SQL data file onto a cloud.

Now when I try to get into recorder it says EOleException: Cannot open database "NBNData" requested by the login. The login failed.

Can someone help please!!!

Re: The login failed

I suspect the Sql sever service is not running. SQL Server databases cant be copied with the service running, but I need to know a lot more about what you tried to do to help.

You could try starting the service (see http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=6022&p=2 )

If this doesn't work it may be quicker if we can deal with this over the phone.

Re: The login failed

Hi

Thanks, I solved this by restarting the computer!
The backup is going to a folder programfiles that I can not change but does not appear when I open up me c drive.  Any ideas?

Re: The login failed

I expect the service had stopped, but started again on the reboot. You should be able to change the location of the backup through Recorder 6. Tools/Database Tools/View or Change backup Locations. You need to run the backup from Tools/ Backup Database. The resulting file should be called NBNdata.bak. This is file you should  secure off site. Possibly the folder is hidden by Windows . You can change this, but how depends on the operating system you are using.
