Topic: Upgrading SQL Server
Dear all,
Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade SQL Server (in my case hopefully from 2008 R2 to 2014) without affecting Recorder?
Or shall I just give it a go? :)
Best wishes
Sam

There shouldn't be a problem upgrading from SQL server 2008 to 2014. However, if 2008 is working on your machine there is no advantage in doing so. With Windows 10 I suspect that once SQL Server 2008 is installed then further Win 10 upgrades will not cause a problem. There is in fact some indication that Win 10 upgrades have made it easier to install 2008 not more difficult.
Thanks Mike, that's good to know.
For interest i recently migrated server 2008 from an Xp to a W10 file server and have had no problems. If anything R6 queries seem to be running faster. Though it could be my imagination..
