Recorder 6 will run on SQL Server 2000 (MSDE)/2005/2008/2012/2014/2016 and 2017. Support for SQL Server 2000 will probably be withdrawn in 2016. You can move up two version without any problems ie. ( 2000 to 2008, 2005 to 2012, 2008 to 2014).  Moving from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2012 or 2014 is not possible without going through SQl Server 2008. To avoid the need to install and intermediate version of SQL Server ask for help  on the Forum.  Anyone with SQL Server 2008 who has Management Tools will be able to help. they will need a copy of your database file (or a backup).
