Topic: VC22 boundary incomplete on grid map
When I display all records for a species using the grid map, the county is bigger than the available frame, so the eastern end is missing. Is there any way round this?

It is not just VC22. There are at least 6 N Scottish VCs where exactly the same thing happens, always on the E boundary (N, S and W seem always correct). In some cases there is ample room on the W edge to move the map over and display the whole thing within the frame, so it is not frame size that is the problem. The maps are at different scales (compare e.g. Outer Hebrides with Easterness, and the size of the hectad squares) so it should be possible to place each map and scale it appropriately to show the whole VC.

If you are feeling adventurous you could potentially look at the EasyMap service to create the map, it will probably take a bit to get to grips with but you can find the documentation at https://data.nbn.org.uk/Documentation/W … p_Service/
For vc22 it appears to work i.e. https://data.nbn.org.uk/EasyMap?tvk=NHM … &w=400 replacing the tvk with the one you are looking at in this case.
Could you please pass on the VC's that are in error and I will add it to the list of things for us to look at, I can't really promise a prompt response right now, but I can create a ticket to look at and hopefully resolve the problem in the future.

Thanks. Have had a look at the example of Easy Map which gives the complete county, but seems to be at 10Km square level. Any possibility of using it at 2 km square level? The VC boundary is beautifully clear on this map - I would use the interactive map for this but I have only been able to superimpose the VC boundaries as pale grey lines which don't show up very well against the background.
Only county which I've dealt with which has this problem is Berkshire.

Hi, yes you can supply an additional parameter to the request to get 2km &res=2km If you need to change the size of the image, etc... you can do that as well, just adjust the appropriate parameters (h and w) further details are in the documentation link I posted
https://data.nbn.org.uk/EasyMap?tvk=NHM … mp;res=2km
Thanks
Mike
