Topic: Darwin Core integration with Indicia

Good day,
is there any module or way to integrate Indicia with Darwin Core for data exchange? Thanks

Hi Carlo

Simple Darwin Core can be represented in a csv file format.  Indicia can import and export using csv files. You would have to map Indicia fields on to Darwin Core Terms.

We have written reports for exporting data in the NBN Exchange format but not Darwin Core as far as I know.

We have also talked about automated data exchange with other organisations. I don't think any progress has been made on that yet.

Can you tell us more about what you want to do?

Hi Jim,
to export CSV, from where i can do?
Our client asked us to understand the possibility to use Darwin Core with Indicia, so i don't know exactly the use in this moiment. Maybe because Darwin Core should become the way to exchange data...

Re: Darwin Core integration with Indicia

Hi Carlo,

To download csv files there are various options depending on your circumstances.

If you have a client website using Drupal and the IForm module you could use the Easy Download form

Alternatively, still in Drupal and the IFrom module, some of the reports, such as the Report Grid, include a Download Link option to allow the results being viewed to be downloaded as csv.

These are making use of functions in the client_helpers library such as report_helper::report_download_link and report_helper::get_report_data. The latter takes the same format option as report_download_link but that is missing from the documentation.

In turn, these are simply requesting information from the warehouse data services in different formats using the mode parameter.

I have also found some documentation of a feature I was unaware of to do with auto generating download files.
