Topic: Magpie confusion

I ran ImpWiz selecting 'all records from checklist' using the Birds (BOU) checklist. The output included all the Magpie moths from the Lepidoptera checklist, and the Taxon Order field correctly identified them as Lepidoptera. (v6.22.2.273)

There were no Sycamore or Butterbur moths returned when I tried the analogous query on the Vascular Plants checklist, so doesn't seem to be a general problem, but worth looking out for.

Sorry, I meant RepWiz, of course! :-(

Re: Magpie confusion

The Birds (BOU) checklist and the Lepidptera list both use the same Taxon_Version key for Magpie which isn't right. The Taxon_List_Item_Key  for Magpie on the RSPB list uses  TV key
NBNSYS0000168632, which might more appropriate.

Re: Magpie confusion

Apologies chaps - that must have been a typo, introduced by me during the recent BOU checklist update! There were a huge number of common name and scientific name changes and it would have been very difficult to spot with my current query, which didn't show the output group. It's a trap for the unwary so I will modify my query to include that from now on.

It has been fixed here on my copy - Mike is it easier for you to fix at your end so that we don't have to do a full database update?

Re: Magpie confusion

Dictionary Upgrades 26/27/28 are attached which correct this problem and also the confusing use of 'Woodlouse' reported in another topic. These upgrades will be available shortly on the R6 website.
