Re: Tetrads Issues Resolved?

Hi

Many moons ago, early versions Recorder 2000 did not properly convert tetrad coordinates. From the release notes of Recorder 2000 1.1.1.0 to Recorder 2002 upgrade;

"The DINTY Tetrad system for OSGB co-ordinates now works correctly and data imported in this form from Recorder 3 will now work correctly"

Now that we have worked our way up the Recorder 2002 upgrade path, and are now running the latest version of Recorder 6, my question is - did the fix(es) made to the tetrad problem provide a solution for all of the tetrad data? That is, can we trust all tetrad data or is data that was entered before the fix still incorrect?

Any information on this would be gratefully received as it will save me work in having to manually check all our tetrad data in a GIS.

Thanks,
Dave.

Re: Tetrads Issues Resolved?

Hi Dave

I've had a quick chat with Stuart Ball about this.

I'm told that any incorrect references in the database (at that time that you ran the fix) should have been resolved, and anything entered since should also be ok.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Sarah

Re: Tetrads Issues Resolved?

Hi

With the BTO Atlas fieldwork starting in November I am interested in this short thread I had not noticed before. Will the Import Wizard import tetrad references? Do they all have to be named separately before doing any importing? For example, for SJ15J would I have to ensure the location 'Rhuthun, N' is set up in advance or can tetrad references be used on their own?

Thanks, Ian

Re: Tetrads Issues Resolved?

I can confirm that tetrads do indeed import via the import wizard as-is.
