Topic: Search facility on this Forum

That 30 second mandatory delay imposed on searches is extremely detrimental to the functionality of this site.
I've tried the following searches: "Vice Counties", "Vice County", "Watsonian" in an attempt to find some nice tip from someone about loading those nice NBNT Watsonian Vice County boundaries into R6. I'm by no means a fast typist but on each failed search my second attempt kicks me out due to the timer.
What purpose could possibly be served by imposing this restriction?

This is the default. I suspect it is to stop automatic searches bringing down the system. However, I have changed  it to 10 seconds. Hope this helps.

On the question of the VC boundaries. The NBN software which came with the boundaries (DVD or download)  doesn't work on 64 bit machines and I don't think there are any plans to fix it. What the original software allowed you to do was  to extract individual or groups of Vice County Boundaries from the master mid/mif file.  However you can load the boundaries individually by copying off the zip files rom the DVD or downloading them, then unzipping them. They are on there by Vice County and the whole country is available as one file. They can be loaded either from the shape or mif files. There are various different files delineated by MLWE, 3 mile and 12 mile limits.
