Topic: General Gateway Search problems

Searching for Ptinella c on the new search table returns no results, but searching for Ptinella ca returns results.

(compare https://data.nbn.org.uk/Search?q=ptinella+c with https://data.nbn.org.uk/Search?q=ptinella+ca )

Hello Charlie

The new Gateway searches on 2 or more letters within each word in the search term. This allow searching on more than species terms eg dataset names, site names, designated lists. The disadvantage is that at least 2 letters are needed in the second word for the search to return a result. I have flagged this to see if there is anything that can be done so that only one letter is required for the second and subsequent words

Ah yes, that makes sense; a fix would be useful, had me confused for a few moments!
