I've got the Verification Module enabled. How does it relate to the Data Cleaner Module?
By verification module, I presume you are referring to the Instant Indicia feature for verification (or the prebuilt form) in your Drupal site?
The verification prebuilt form is a ready made page with code on it allowing a verifier to browse incoming records and verify them.
The data_cleaner module sits on the warehouse and applies automatic verification rule checks (such as migrant birds being in the correct season). It puts messages against records when there are rule violations. These messages then become part of the information available to a verifier when they browse the records to verify in the aforementioned form.

Thanks John, that's what I meant!
My initial uncertainty is due to records failing verification tests, and I wondered if this was related to the Data Cleaner Module (as that's not installed yet). Either way I checked the PeriodWithinYear test for a particular species - Pink-footed Geese, because records that should be correct are flagged up as fails in the Instant Indicia prebuilt verification form. Other species appear to be OK within correct flight periods. PS I corrected the reverse_rule to true as this was set incorrectly as false, probably an import error.
... And thus I'm not sure what other configuration to check. I'm reluctant to remove and re-import the rules!

If the record was flagged as a failure, then editing the rule will not remove that failure, though that is a planned development. The time of year checks for birds were uploaded to the Record Cleaner server with everything the wrong way round by the way!
If you edit the record then it will go through verification again, and you will be able to check if the failure is removed.
