Topic: Import biotypes problem

I have discovered when importing records for the same location with different habitats with all the other details the same, Recorder does not create a new sample for each biotype (and its associated taxa), but 'lumps' them all into one sample, completely losing the relationship between taxon and its containing biotope - the only way I've found to avoid this is to include a comment about the biotope in the 'Locality Name' field

That is certainly how I would do it (habitat imported to Location name). How are you doing it then (when it doesn't work)? I wasn't aware that there was a way of importing biotope for a taxon occurrence record. Recorder treats the two types as separate records within the same sample.

If Habitat (in the incoming data) is mapped to Biotope in the import, then it creates a Biotope record to go with the taxon occurrence, but if there are six taxon records all with the same habitat, it knows to only create one biotope record, but if there are species from different habitats, it creates all the biotope records IN THE SAME sample which is obviously not correct, it should create a new sample for each different biotope occurrence!

I can't duplicate this with a simple test with mutiple taxon and biotopes. It is always creating samples with just one biotope. Can you got please supply a  file which illustrates the problem.
