Re: V6.7.2 Question

I'm working on a test install of Recorder 6. The base version is 6.6.8 network. This is installed on windows 2003 server. I'm working as admin on the machine directly, not via a workstation. The database is clean - no data has been imported from R2002 yet.

V6.6.8 installs ok and V6.7.2 proceeds to a point where the install docs request that Rec6v6_7_2.zip be imported. When this is done, there appears to be lots of duplicates reported (why?). There are no instructions on how to proceed further. Which is the correct option to choose on the import wizard? I went for "All Latest" - to ignore duplicates, but the import reported that it could not match all dates.

I closed the import wizard and tried a re-install of the upgrade but ran into the same issues reported elsewhere on this forum, i.e. the dialog  reports an update, but nothing happens behind the scenes. I reinstalled another clean 6.6.8 database and I'm trying again. :/

Does anyone have an answer to this please?

Thanks.

Re: V6.7.2 Question

I used "All Imported" in the end. Don't know if that has ramifications.  On to a  problem with the V6.9.3 now. Boy, this is hard work!

No...forget the above. I've just checked the version number and it's still at 6.6.8.59!

Re: V6.7.2 Question

Unzipped the upgrade files directly over 6.6.8 as per the instructions here: http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=17&p=1

Now get 6.7.2.77 reported as the version number.

Can this be fixed retrospectively please? It's a bad impression for anyone new to Recorder and wastes time for those of us trying to use recorder to provide services.

Re: V6.7.2 Question

I think this is fixed in the 6.10 upgrade because, for the first time, I didn't have to manually copy over the upgrade files. I only had problems with the upgrade scripts one isolated time; they weren't a problem before and haven't been since I posted in the thread you linked to.

Regarding the "All Latest" option, this doesn't work and hasn't done for a while. Unfortunately it was reported (by me) too late for a fix to be included in 6.10, but will be fixed in the new version.

Perhaps it would be best to wait until the 6.10 installer is released to save all of the upgrade hassles?

Yes, that make more sense. The 6.10 release is the full installer then? No need to start with a base version an apply upgrades.
