Topic: Getting Recorder 6 software upgrades upto date

Hello,

I haven't used Recorder for several months and I was wondering what I need to do to get the software upto date?

Currently at 6.17.1.250 and dictionary 0000000Y.

Thanks for your help

Gary

You are still on the latest release of the software, but version 6.18 is available as a 'Release Candidate' which you could  try if you wish .  See  http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?pid=15674#p15674

There are  two dictionary upgrades available for 6.17  http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/page-4615  You should run these before upgrading to 6.18

Re: Getting Recorder 6 software upgrades upto date

Hello,

I started the process of trying to upgrade and when I ran the 0000000Z,10.zip dictionary the system appears to hang. I noticed that the upgrade contains 2000 records. So, I suspect the problem I'm having might be more to do with the capabilities of my pc e.g. memory/disk space. What's the best way to go about tracing the error? Thanks.

Re: Getting Recorder 6 software upgrades upto date

This upgrade is realatively small, so I would have expected it to run on any machine which can run Recorder.  Some of the machines I have been testing on are very low spec. You may just need to leave it for a a lot longer.  It will apear to hang if you move away from the Recorder window, but it is stll running. Check in Help/About Recorder 6 to see if it has managed to do Z.

Re: Getting Recorder 6 software upgrades upto date

Mike, thanks for reply. Z/10 took about 35 mins to update. What threw me was that when I displayed the Windows Task Manager it had 'Not Responding' against the dictionary upgrade programs. Anyway, have also upgraded to the 6.18 version and the associated libraries which has also worked ok!

Cheers for now
