Topic: Combining Species

Over the years, I have added a number of species to Recorder - now the dictionaries have been updated a number of times in the intervening period, some of these species are now included in one of the system supplied lists.

Is there any way I can combine my entry with the system one and remove my taxon - I can do it by hand, but this takes ages!

You can merge taxa using the "Tools > Database Tools > Merge data items" but it is slow in itself as you have to close down other windows before it runs.

Edit: I should add, it works on user added taxa but I haven't tried it with system supplied - at your own risk etc.!

Doh, never thought of checking that routine, I just assumed it wouldn't work for dictionaries - it worked!
