Topic: Internal exception occurred in the NBN Exchange addin...

While trying to export in NBN format I found it was taking far too long. hidden behind the app was this message;

An internal exception occurred in the NBN Exchange addin in
SQL: INSERT INTO ##nbn_exchange_export(nbn_key, table_name) VALUES ('MMEEE1AMEEE1MCKQ','TAXON_OCCURRENCE');

The exception message is:
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead (recv()).]General network error. Check your network documentation

I thought it sounded familar but found nothing on the forum. I see it is while it creates a temporary file for export. I'm not sure why an NBN key would be the cause of an error.

Any ideas?

This sounds like you lost network connection (possibly just for a second - Recorder can't handle any "down time" while it's running). Were you trying to export to a network folder / is your Recorder networked?

Yes it is networked and I'm writting back to a folder on the SQL server drive. After pressing Ok it then complains about every record [it seems] and posts it as a connection error.

That being the case if it won't work on a network properly there is not much hope as it is so slow.

I left it running over the week end in the hope that the second time I ran it, it would finish but no. Perhaps

Generating a flat file in SQL from the whole database take less than 15 mins, which is why I do it there myself. If we knew what code created the ocx addin we just might be able to avoid such problems.
