Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I'm not getting very far with this at all. I have version 6.7.2.77 working fine on my network, the last upgrade work I did was to follow John van Breda's instructions (topic 19 in my "Upgrade to 6.7.2" thread).
I found the download file by searching the NBN site, unzipped it and double-clicked the RecorderUpgrade.exe file in the

Upgrade from 6.7.2

folder.
I get the following error message:

RecorderUpgrade.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.

I've tried looking for that error file but haven't succeeded.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

Just to be clear, did you download the upgrade file from here: http://forums.nbn.org.uk/recorderWebsite/upgrades.htm

Also, I wouldn't recommend installing 6.9.2 onto a live, working system. It's still a beta release, and thus could have bugs in it still. As I understand it, the final version - 6.9.3 - should be released at the beginning of next month, once everyone has had a chance to send their feedback on 6.9.2.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

That's where I got it from, Charles. Unless I can upgrade to that version, there won't be much feedback from this quarter.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I thought that perhaps the file contained in the zip may be corrupt, but I've just tried downloading it myself and it works ok for me. Have you tried downloading it again? I'd also give the full upgrade version a try to see if that works and in order to rule out all possibilities.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

Same result with both despite fresh downloads.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I suspect the error log referred to in the message is the Windows Application one- see Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Event Viewer, then select Application in the list on the left. You may find there are some details for the related error logged in the list on the right.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

Did you spot anything in the error log Darwyn?

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I've just tried both again.
Nothing in the specified event log at all under today's date except for 2 items which must (because of the time signature) relate to my logging on earlier this morning.
I'm only able to find 3 logs in the event viewer list - Application Log, Security Log & System Log - none of them are registering events related to this Program Error. Wherever the error log is being generated, it ain't here.

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I'm out of ideas then. Can anyone else shed any light?

Re: Upgrade to 6.9.2

I'd like to exhaust all possibilities from the Recorder end before calling in our IT support (who I suspect might not solve it). Are there any more ideas out there please!

Hi Darwyn,
Did you ever get the issue of upgrading sorted I seem to be having the same trouble as you had at the moment !
