Re: R6 to MapMate Exports

I've seen some bits on this subject but before I go any further has anyone got a robust method of exporting to MapMate especially if it tracs those records exported?

If someone has I would be most grateful.

Re: R6 to MapMate Exports

Hi, just wanted to bump this post because I'm also interested in this.

There seems to be a robust way of exporting from MapMate to Recorder http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=3958 by generating Recorder compatible 'MM' keys from the MapMate keys.  Therefore, any duplicates or amended records that are included in subsequent MapMate exports Recorder imports can be recognized.

I can't find a similar solution for exporting from Recorder to MapMate, which would be useful for my regular data exchanges with one our Local Record Centres who use MapMate.  Solutions like http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=708 don't seem to take into account keys, and therefore seem to be a minefield for duplications. MapMate keys having shorter character lengths than Recorder's obviously doesn't help, but I'm sure with some agreed and consistent character mapping a solution could be arrived at...?  Surely there is a need for this, perhaps I am missing a solution that's already out there?

Cheers,
Andy.
