Re: Login problems for new users - post 6.17 upgrade?

Hi,

I have an issue where new users get an error message on attempting to start Recorder for the first time. The message is "The Object Sheet File Path setting is missing or incorrect. Recorder is not installed properly and cannot start." Connection is to a remote network via Terminal Services. I assume Recorder is trying to write files in a location where they do not hav permissions. No problems for previous users. 6.17 upgrade applied a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas?

Re: Login problems for new users - post 6.17 upgrade?

Gordon,

I've had a few errors post-v6.17 upgrade, however, resetting the Base Map/Map/Files/Object Sheet directory attributes on the Server and affected Workstations, to remove any hint of a Read-Only flag, solved all my issues. I would also check the Object Sheet Path is correct in the Registry too.

Re: Login problems for new users - post 6.17 upgrade?

Removed the read only flags and still seem to be getting the same error message. As start up is via a script and through Terminal Services I might have to arrange for a manual check of the registry included in the set up instructions if that is the problem.

Running John's registry checking & fixing program seems to correct things

Thanks
