Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

Hi Charlie
Looks like that script expects your database name to be NBNData. If you download http://forums.nbn.org.uk/uploads.php?file=00000082.txt then rename it to 00000082.sql and swap it for the equivalent file in your upgrade's scripts folder it should work.
Best wishes

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

Hi

I have what may be a superficially similar problem

Error occurred running script 0000007Z.sql. The error is described as: Invalid object name 'sys.objects'.

However when I now open Recorder it tells me it is version 6.17.1.250.

Many thanks

Andy

Our version is running over a network.

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

OK that was wierd.

I tried to run the upgrade in exactly the same way as I always have with previous ones and was told that my windows login does not have sufficient permission to upgrade (it says I lack db owner, which is not the case, I have db owner priviledges).

Our ICT officer then came and tried a series of adminsitrative logins until he found one which did not cause an error and the upgrade began, only to terminate quite rapidly with an unhandled error similar to the ones above (e.g. Error occurred running script 000000??.sql. The error is described as: Invalid object name 'sys.objects'.) Unfortunately I neglected to note down the number of the script which failed.

I thought I would be able to check which script it was by reference to the LastError.txt file, only now I do not know where it is saved. It is not in the location Sally describes C:\Documents and Settings\AllUsers\Documents etc, because this folder doesn't exist.

Recorder 6 opens and runs apparently normally and the version number is correct following the upgrade, but how can we be sure the system is working properly?

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

I have done some research and it would apear that the only script file which contains the words "sys.objects" is 0000007Z.SQL and its right at the top, so it must be this one which failed to run properly.

A brief check suggests that neither this script, nor any of the subsequent ones had been run, so I ran them all manually (I had to remove the test at the beginning of7Z and manually delete the usp before running it).

So now all scripts have run? But I still don't know if I have a stable, fully functioning install...

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

Thanks Rob. Script 7Z was not SQL Server 2000 compatible. This and the scripts after it will not have run on SQL Server 2000 systems.  All the affects are confined to the Import Wizard, but will not cause any corruptions if the Wizard is used.  A revised upgrade will be available shortly once we have run a few more tests.

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

Thanks Mike, as I said I have manually run the rest of the scripts without incident, it was only the inclusion of the sys.objects that caused an error.

Does that mean the upgrade is complete now (i.e. are the scripts the last thing to run) or is there likely to be anything else missing?

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

I am comfortable that if you have run the scripts 7Z to 82 manually then everything is Ok, but  you might like to check the Setting table. The db sequence should 00000082. This will probably not have updated  if you have run the scripts manually. It shouldn't cause a problem, but it may be worth updating it.

Re: Recorder 6.17 upgrade error - Error occurred running script 00000082

Thanks Mike, you were right, dbseq was stuck on 0000007Y, I have updated it to 00000082 manually.
