Re: Recorder Wiki

Apologies for the recent interruption to the Recorder Wiki I am pleased to announce that it is now available again (and therefore so is the help page on the forum) via the normal link on the Recorder website (which you can link to at the top of this page).  However, this is a temporary reinstatement of the Wiki in its present incarnation (the information is currently being transferred behind the scenes into a new system) so PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY NEW ITEMS as they will miss the transfer process and will be lost.

Thank you for your patience!
Lynn

Re: Recorder Wiki

The Wiki has now been transformed (in the background) and it is therefore up and running again.

Re: Recorder Wiki

Out of interest, what happened to it?

Re: Recorder Wiki

The database and front end was copied from the original site and pasted onto the forum site. Logging in to the forum also logs you into the Wiki for adding and editing. Is that enough detail?

Re: Recorder Wiki

Ah, OK, in that case you'll need to update the link on the Recorder site because it points to the old wiki. In case anyone was wondering, the new wiki is here:

Re: Recorder Wiki

Thanks Charles, I think we spotted that at the same time (we were writing our posts simultaneously)!.

If you are planning on editing or adding to the Wiki please use only the links on the forum (new link at the top of the page and the existing link to the help) rather than from the Recorder website (this is still connected to the old version with EIM). I will let you know when the link from the recorder website is ready to use. If you have added/edited items on the Wiki since my last post don't worry we will retrieve the items. Sorry for the mix up.

Re: Recorder Wiki

Quick question: should someone wish to edit the wiki, how should they go about obtaining an account?

Re: Recorder Wiki

All the links which go the wiki are now valid - the website link has been updated.
Charles - not sure exactly what you mean - have you tried to edit the wiki and can not? As the wiki is now part of the forum site once you are logged into the forum you are automatically logged into the wikii as far as I understand it. Therefore you should be able to get in to the wiki to edit already - is this waht you mean by an account?

Re: Recorder Wiki

Previously, with the old wiki, you could only edit it if you had an account. This account needed to be setup by Charlie Copp. So is it now definitely the case with the new wiki that your forum login also logs you into the wiki and will allow editing?

I can edit it just fine, btw, I was just wondering about others.

Re: Recorder Wiki

Yes, as I understand it once you are logged into the forum you are automatically logged in to the wiki.

Re: Recorder Wiki

Seems to work - I hadn't tried to edit it before, but can now get to a page which would change it if I wanted to (not wanting to create more work for the moderators)
