Re: Export terms lists

Being able to export whole terms lists, or individual terms, is an essential feature if you're working with satellite users. Presently, the only way to transfer terms to another database is to export the data associated with the terms, or go through a lengthy and difficult manual process.

To give you an example of why this feature is important, we're currently engaged in a project (the Revised Ancient Woodland Inventory) with the High Weald AONB Unit and Kent & Medway Biological Records Centre. We're all entering data at three separate sites. Here at SxBRC we have devised a comprehensive coding system to be used with Location Features [Example screenshot]. We need to send these codes to HWAONB and KMBRC and it is this that is currently proving to be hard to accomplish.

The way I would like to see such an export feature work is similar to building a rucksack; i.e., drag and drop those terms you want to export. Also allow for a whole terms list to be exported. Here's an example of how this might be presented (see the button in the bottom-right).

Re: Export terms lists

Charles

I would agree wholeheartedly about this being a requirement. However, it is a long-standing one and is something I requested back in 2001. Do others have a problem with the current lack of a facility to accomplish this??
