Topic: R6 import of shapefile onto map tile

When I import a shape file into R6 mapping I Add Polygon Layer then Import onto layer. Then navigate to the source .shp file. When I do this does Recorder need to see files other than .shp, for instance .shx, .prj, .dbf ??

Yes - the shp, shx and dbf are required for it to be a "valid" shapefile generally, and the prj is normally a good idea as well. Recorder 6 seems to want all 4, which is understandable.
