Topic: inactive Locations

Picking up on this from the latest release candidate notes:

an inactive Location in R6 is identified by having a ‘To Date’ for all the Location designations

Is the active/inactive status of a location used for anything e.g. not allowing records to be entered against an inactive location if past the designation end date?

It is there as a visual indicator at the moment.  Some discussion is needed on what is required. Validation of input is an option, but would be complex if taken to its full extent.  Checking at the matching stage in IW is another possibility.

Thanks Mike. On the wishlist but something I was going to eventually going to do (checking existing records) with an SQL query.
