I've just found a serious problem in the export routine (v 6.28.0.287)

I was exporting a batch of records (likely only 10), but when ask which tables to reassign custodianship I ticked the ones I wanted BUT FORGOT TO ENTER A NEW CUSTODIAN

Recorder happily told me please enter a valid custodian, but then on canceling the message, proceeded to do the export before I could enter a new custodian! This resulted in the records having no custodian (well actually it appear to have c4 spaces as the custodian - I had to (1) remember exactly which tables I'd reset and (2) re-populate them from the Access view of the tables.
