Topic: Different maps

This is more of a curiosity - why are the maps on https://regions.nbnatlas.org/ using the Google Maps API whereas other maps (e.g. https://species.nbnatlas.org/species/NHMSYS0000530482) use Leaflet?

I would have thought using the same map API throughout would be better? Or better still just use the map from https://records.nbnatlas.org/occurrence … ab_mapView (or is this meant to be a Joe Public user friendly version?)

Hi Charlie,
Its a legacy thing. ALA has used google maps more extensively in the past and they haven't updated this interface yet to use leaflet.
