Topic: Nomenclature Query

Sorry I can't find the earlier threads about differences between the Atlas and UKSI.

Please can you add another query.

Degelia atlantica is listed as a synonym of Pectenia atlantica, with the latter being the accepted name. However this does not seem to be recognised by PESI (Degelia atlantica (Degel.) P.M. Jørg. & P. James. Accessed through: Index Fungorum at http://www.indexfungorum.org/names/Name … D=126855), nor is it in the current BLS list.

Thank you

Christine

Re: Nomenclature Query

Hi Christine

Probably best logged in the UK Species Inventory forum but I am monitoring this one too so I can pick it up here.

I'm passing all fungus/lichen queries to Richard Shotbolt of the BMS. He has been working closely with Paul Kirk and Brian Coppin to harmonise their taxonomy/nomenclature over the last year so it might have come about as a fairly recent change or a glitch in his update routines. I will ask him and get back to you :)

Best wishes,
Chris R.

Re: Nomenclature Query

Thanks Chris.
It is not urgent as the records can still be accessed, just confusing.
If I find any more anomalies I'll post them through the normal route.

cheers

Christine
