Topic: Over complex navigation

Hi everyone,
This is picking-up on a point raised by Teresa in the previous post "Querying records".
When looking at records for a species the links seem to work differently depending on whether you look at an individual record from either the list of the records or from the map.
If you start with the list of records you can open individual records using the View Record link (although I find the number of mouse clicks to get it to work varies?). If you start with the map, as Teresa noted, you seem to go on a circular route via the map when you click on the View Record link. When you eventually get to see the record details and want to return to the species list you have to remove the filter for the grid square that you have been looking at.
This really is over complex and takes far too much time (please remember not everyone has superfast broadband) to get the required information. It is bad enough when you have to open each record individually without going on the circular route via the map and remembering to remove filters.
This is really very important, the average recorder wants to be able to access information about a record quickly and easily. The current navigation does not deliver, it is too slow, too complex and confusing.

Thanks for raising this issue again on another thread. We have logged your comments about trying to reduce time required / navigation to access a record. We can certainly look at this as part of enhancements to the NBN Atlas.
