Topic: Entering Aepophilus bonnairei record error

Hello,

I've been trying to enter records for Aepophilus bonnairei (NHMSYS0020308906) onto our indicia website but the species don't appear in the drop down selection, and I've also tried iRecord with no luck.

Is there a known issue with this species?

Many thanks,
Niki

Re: Entering Aepophilus bonnairei record error

Hi Niki

This is interesting. I have checked the database and that species exists within the UK Master List on our warehouse. When I try to find it on iRecord the database is queried and makes suggestions as I type. However, the request is being mangled and the 'Ae' is being rewritten as 'E'. Thus, if I type 'Aepo' the list of suggestions are actually for letters 'epo'. This then fails to match the entry in the database. Numerous other species also beginning with 'Ae' also fail to appear. I will log it as a bug and will try to post back here when it has been resolved.

Re: Entering Aepophilus bonnairei record error

Hi

Turns out this had already been reported.
See https://github.com/BiologicalRecordsCen … issues/116

The initial report includes a workaround which can be employed until the bug is fixed.
When typing the species name, replace the 'Ae' with '*' so you would enter *pophilus bonnairei.
It's a bit slow but better than nothing.

Re: Entering Aepophilus bonnairei record error

Hi

A fix has been committed to overcome this problem. Since it applies to the warehouse there is no need to update client websites for it to take effect. Testing with iRecord shows it to be working on the BRC community warehouse.
