Topic: ESRI shape file display incorrect

Hi,

I have a problem with displaying the records exported from R6 via Report Output/Export to ESRI Shape file. When I add the shapefile to ArcGIS, the bigger squares cover some of the the smaller one (please see the example). I was playing with the transparency and other setting, but nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions?

Hi Marta, I guess this is to do with the order they are being drawn in in Arc. In ArcGIS, have you tried choosing "hollow"/setting your fill colour to "no Colour" (above the colours in symbology)? I would expect this to then show all the squares.

Otherwise I think you'll need to do some faffy work around (e.g calculate length of grid reference field and then use symbol level in arc gis to draw the 10km first) which would be better to avoid.
