Re: Merging surveys

Hi

This is an off-shoot of my queries about duplicate records and how to weed them out. This tack is to consider if it would be sensible, or possible, to set up a new survey for each year, and at the end of the year when the data for the year are 'clean' to merge the new year's records with a survey that accumulates all the records. The annual surveys could either be kept for future checks or deleted.

I looked in R6 Help and could not get any information when I put in 'merge surveys'.

Is it possible and can anyone tell me how to do it?

Cheers, Ian

Re: Merging surveys

Ian, have a look in Help for "merge data items". You can merge surveys by following this guidance.

Hope that helps.

Re: Merging surveys

Hi Charles

Thanks for your suggestion. I have used 'Merge data items' when I have been sorting out and rearranging my location hierarchy. I shall do an experiment with a new survey to see if it will merge data from one survey to another.

Hi Charles

Yes, the merge of surveys works very neatly! Thanks for the tip.
