Topic: Dictionary Upgrade 3C to 3E

Dictionary Upgrade 0000003C to 0000003E  is now available at http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/page-4615 . Please note that it can only be applied to Recorder v 6.25 or above. Applying it to other version will corrupt table Index_Taxon_Name. If anyone is in urgent need of this dictionary upgrade, but is unable to upgrade to v6.25 then please ask and I will supply a slightly compromised special version which will install on versions 6.18 to  6.24.   I  regret that it is unlikly that this special version will be available for future dictionary upgrades,

Re: Dictionary Upgrade 3C to 3E

On running the update an error occurred. Something appears to have gone wrong while running 3E.sql. The relevant part of the bug report file is:-

Error occurred running script 0000003E.sql. The error is described as: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_TAXON_VERSION_TAXON". The conflict occurred in database "NBNData", table "dbo.TAXON_VERSION", column 'TAXON_KEY'.

Clicked on continue application after receiving error message - program still running but not looking like it is doing anything.

Re: Dictionary Upgrade 3C to 3E

I ran the update. Took a long time but said it had been successful.

I updated the indexes in correct order.

I've just tried to carry out an urgent search and the report (wizard) is now failing to pick up any records. Any suggestions?

Re: Dictionary Upgrade 3C to 3E

I closed the Dictionary Upgrade program and attempted to run Recorder. It crashed after I'd logged in with an error message. See attached error message.

Charlie

Please can you try replacing the scripts file 0000003E.sql with the one at

http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=6538

Then run the dictionary upgrade again.

Mike,

Ran upgrade with new file - no problems. Started Recorder OK then rebuilt indexes. Again no problem. Everything appears OK.

Thanks again,

Charlie
