Re: Location of temporary Access database when importing

When doing an import wizard import a temporary Access db is created. Where is this held and at what point does it get deleted?

Cheers,
Charles

Re: Location of temporary Access database when importing

If you are importing data from another copy of Recorder, the temporary database will have the same name as the import file except that it will have an extension of .mdb, otherwise it will be something like IMP9C.tmp. A temporary database for each import is located in a folder called NBN Import within the folder Windows uses for temporary storage.

This is usually C:\Winnt\Temp for Windows NT or C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Temp for Windows 2002 or Windows XP, but can be changed by the user - check your Windows configuration. You may need to set Windows to 'Show hidden files and folders' to locate the temporary database (My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View tab).

Each time you start Recorder it will automatically delete any temporary databases in the NBN Import folder.
