Re: Dictionary Upgrade fails

Me again,

I'm not having a good time with Recorder today!

The documentation for the updates are unclear, but I have my scripts directory which as all the files starting from 000...SQL up to the latest files just published.  I get an access violation every time the program runs after about 10-15 mins.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

Re: Dictionary Upgrade fails

Hi Dave
Can you right click on the RecorderUpgrade.exe file, select Properties then go to the Version tab please. Which version number of the upgrade kit are you running?
Thanks

Re: Dictionary Upgrade fails

Hi John,

Version is 6.10.4.104

I'm running on a client machine BTW.

Thanks.

Re: Dictionary Upgrade fails

Sorry Dave, a couple more questions.
1) What is visible on the upgrade window when the crash occurs?
2) Would you be able to run the following query against your database for me and send me the result please:
select data from setting where name='db seq'

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Kind Regards

Hi John,

Standard error dialog;

"Access violation at address 004DD769 in module 'DictionaryUpgrade.exe' Read of address 00000000."

2) Would you be able to run the following query against your database for me and send me the result please:
select data from setting where name='db seq'

The result of that query was 00000042

I will try and run the upgrade on the server, rather than the client, later today. See if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

Re: Dictionary Upgrade fails

Hi John,

I've run the update on the server and it's crashed with the same error message as the last post. :(

Thats two different machines & OS.

Cheers.
