Topic: MS5.dll missing

I am trying to upgrade Recorder from 6.22.2.274 to 6.24 on a Windows 10 machine and keep getting the error message MS5.dll & MS5User.dll are missing from the computer, despite both being present in the Recorder folder.

* I have placed the update directory within the Recorder folder
* I have tried both Windows authentication & 'sa'

Recorder itself runs fine if the icon is clicked

I've run out of ideas?

An update!

I have used the same update file to successfully update another Windows 10 computer, so there is something in the set-up of the problem computer, and I think it is permissions, but I don't understand Win10 enough

* I am logged in as 'Administrator'
* I have tried running the update with 'Run as Administrator'
* the problem computer is a Win7 upgrade rather than a purchased Win10 machine

Re: MS5.dll missing

Try running the upgrade in compatibility mode.

Re: MS5.dll missing

Seems strange, because R6 will not  run iof either of these .dll's is missing. I have asked JVB if he has any idea what the problem might be. A virus checker could cause the dll not to load, so it might be worth trying
the following

1. Move the upgrade files to a new folder  somewhere on the root ( say C:\R6Upgrades) and try again.
2. When not connected to the Internet turn off the virus checker and try again.

Re: MS5.dll missing

John thinks it could be something to do with paths and suggests putting a copy of the two dll's in the upgrade folder.
