Topic: Chief Executive of the National Biodiversity Network - Job vacancy

The NBN Trust is looking for a new CEO following the untimely death of John Sawyer.   The CEO’s role is to manage the process of establishing and running the National Biodiversity Network and to manage the relationships and overall performance of the NBN projects through implementation of the NBN Strategy 2015-2020.   In addition, this role also promotes the NBN and the contributions made by its participants in order to increase understanding of the benefits of the NBN and encourage its expansion.  The CEO is also responsible for managing the Trust’s Secretariat team.

Working as part of a small team, this is a key role reporting directly to the Chairman and Board of Trustees, which is made up of senior conservation professionals appointed annually by the membership.

The post holder will be expected to;
* demonstrate an ability to set strategic vision, working alongside a Board, and deliver that vision through change management;
* have an excellent track-record in partnership working, able to build commitment and secure resources from a wide range of organisations;
* demonstrate commitment to leading an aspect of biodiversity conservation, science or data;
* bring an established network of contacts across the public, private and third sectors.

It is desirable for you to:
* have worked in the Public or Third Sectors;
* have a science background;
* have experience of communicating a vision, strategy and organisational objectives to diverse audiences;
* be an enthusiastic advocate of biodiversity conservation

In return we can offer:
Salary:  £35K to £55K
Location: Flexible but with regular travel to Nottingham and London and across the UK.
