Topic: Recorder 6 Version Up-grade Problems

Hello,
I am still unable to resolve the problems with Recorder 6 after I installed the recent up-grade.
As I've not received a response to my request for help (24 August) I'm trying again as the inability to use the software is causing problems. Failing a suggested solution, can you advise on how to restore the previous version please?
Apologies for impatience if you are working a on fix.

Original post:
"I installed the recent version of Recorder 6 and dictionary upgrades without any problems.
However I am now getting the following EOle Exception error when I try to open the samples for an event in a Survey or if I try to add a new sample to an event:
'Invalid Column name 'Private Location'.
I have tried restoring the database from the back-up prior made prior to the upgrade but this failed to resolve the problem. The restoration removed the recent dictionary upgrades, but not the version upgrade.

I am using Windows 7 and SQL Server 2005."

I think your database and software are out of step. The error suggests that either the upgrade to the database failed  or that after the upgrade you restored the database back to an earlier version. First thing to do is to try running the upgrade again - it won't do any harm.  Sorry, I missed your first post.

If you get a message saying no database changes are required or any error messages then let me know. I don't think anything major is wrong.

I tried again, after the installation I had the message "no database changes are required" so I checked the Recorder was showing the new version number and then rebuilt the indices.
When I tried to open the samples in the event, I still had the same error message:

I've not had any upgrade problems before, so I'm not sure what to do next about from ask for help.

What is happening is that the new fields are not being added into the database. How much access do you have to the backend of R6. Do you have Management tools  installed or MS Access.  I need to know what the Db Seq in the setting table is.  If it is 0000009T we need to reset it 0000009D and try again. If you haven't any backend access then I can provide XML report/batch updates to do this. It might be helpful if you could phone me so that I can ask some questions  about the  installation.  The previous version can be re-installed, but we need to be careful to keep things in step.
