Topic: How to define a new survey

On page 101 of the documentation (albeit in the section about Instant Indicia, which I have been ignoring as I am using Iform on Drupal 7) it describes how to set up a new survey, as:

Select Lookup Lists > Surveys from the menu. Click the New Survey button at the bottom of the page. Set the
following values: ....

On my test warehouse account (chris_dee), I don't see Surveys in the Lookup lists menu.

Do I have insufficient permissions or is the documentation wrong, and if so how do I create a new survey?

Thanks, Chris

Re: How to define a new survey

Hi Chris,

For reasons I don't know, Surveys got renamed 'Survey datasets' in the menu.
Can you see that?
You have admin permissions for your website so I should hope so.

Re: How to define a new survey

Yes, thanks. I assumed that was about defining batch data loads.

If you are planning on updating the documentation for this, I found a couple of other typos. In the big table on page 58, the paragraphs about Habitats CSV and Management CSV, both read '... a single column containing the county names ...'. I'm not sure what your source format is, but this table doesn't convert well to PDF; the part that overflows the page gets lost.

Thanks, Chris

Re: How to define a new survey

The documentation is stored on GitHub in reStrucuredText format which is compiled by ReadTheDocs in to various electronic formats. Reasonable, I'm sure, but like entering a time warp and using a 35 year old word processor.

I've corrected the contents of the table. It doesn't overflow when I browse https://media.readthedocs.org/pdf/indic … a-docs.pdf

If you would like to contribute to keeping the docs maintained I'm sure that could be arranged!.
