Topic: Exporting Hemiptera

I want to export all the Hemiptera records from the database. Using the report wizard and selecting the Order Hemiptera (and setting the filter to exclude nothing) gives me about 9000 records less than reports which list the number of records per taxon group. I have tried two different ones and they are fine with other taxon groups, so I don't think it is these reports that have the problems.

Any ideas on why the rest of the records are not being exported and how I could export them all?

Reporting on Hemiptera should work. The only thing which I can think which would cause a problem is if selected Hemiptera fro the Recorder 3 list. In this list it is a Class not linked through to the Order Hemiptera. I will run some checks to see if there is another  dictionary problem which might cause the problem.

I have tried selecting the Order Hemiptera from both the Preferred list and from the Recorder 3 list and it comes out with exactly the same number of records.

I have done a bit more investigating myself by exporting all the records for a particular site and then comparing that with all the records for a site restricted by Hemiptera in the report wizard. The latter comes out with fewer Hemiptera species and it looks like that the species missing are those not in the preferred list (i.e. the Homoptera I think).

You would think that selecting Hemiptera from the Recorder 3 list would therefore make a difference but it does not.

Any update on this? Or has anyone got any other ideas about how to get all of the Hemiptera out of Recorder?

Use Additional filters and set the Condition for Taxon Group to contains Hemiptera.

The problem hasn't been forgotten, but while investigating it I came across a major issue which may at least be partly responsible for the problem.  This is taking some time to resolve.

Version 6.23 should resolve this. I believe it to be missing entries in Index_taxon_name which caused the initial problem.
