Topic: Moving Recorder to new computer

Not sure if this should be a 'How Do I?' or a bug!

I am trying to move Recorder (standalone) from one computer to another and cannot get it to work.

* Source computer is running WinXP, destination computer is running Win7 64bit
* Before doing the transfer I ensured the copy of Recorders were the same version

1st Attempt:
1) Detached NBNData from the XP machine, copied it to the new computer, detached the NBNData from the new machine and attached the NBNData transferred from the XP machine
2) SQLServer Management Studio reports everything is fine, it can open and view the NBNData tables ... BUT, on starting Recorder it states it cannot find NBNData

2nd Attempt:
1) Backed-up the XP copy of Recorder
2) Restored the above back-up to the new computer
3) Exactly the same result as first attempt

Help!

Re: Moving Recorder to new computer

The procedure is correct. Did Recorder run on the new machine before you detached the database attached by the install ? The error is it that it can find Nbndata database or that it  cant find nbndata login ?

Re: Moving Recorder to new computer

Not immediately obvious why this isn't working.

I suggest that you check the registry to make sure R6 is pointing to the correct instance. Then try running the attached script.
