Topic: New verification rules for 5 taxonomic groups

Hello

New verification rules for 5 taxonomic groups has been produced, through the Biological Records Centre. These are now all available to download and use in the NBN Record Cleaner. These groups are

Aquatic Heteroptera Recording Society, have produced 10KM range, recording and seasonal period rules for aquatic heteroptera. Additionally they have also assigned identification difficulties and highlighted species that require additional verification (species that are rare, new arrivals or recently recognised species).

British Lichen Society have produced 10KM range rules for lichens. Additionally they have also assigned identification difficulties.

British Phycological Society have produced 10KM range, recording and seasonal period rules for seaweeds. Additionally they have also assigned identification difficulties and highlighted species that require additional verification (species that are rare, confused with other species, non-native or not present in the UK, requires microscopic, culturing or molecular work for identification, or require host species identification).

Gelechiid Recording Scheme have produced 10KM range, recording and seasonal period rules for Gelechiid moth species. Additionally they have also assigned identification difficulties and highlighted species that require additional verification (species that are rare or probably extinct).

Plume Moth Recording Scheme have produced 10KM range, recording and seasonal period rules for Plume moth species. Additionally they have also assigned identification difficulties and highlighted species that require additional verification (species that are rare, probably extinct, recently discovered or critical species).
