Re: Recorder documentation sources

Hello to all! :D

First of all, i'm a new user of recorder software , and i was looking for information regarding the following topics:

º anything like a SDK for Recorder 6.
º database model for the database supplied with Recorder 6.
º documentation regarding .net develpment add-ins.

This information is relevant because one of my "goals" is to understand how the recorder 6 database works in order to be able to do web based applications for reading and extracting data from it.

For example when someone inputs a survey using recorder 6 which tables hold the information?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks & Regards

Re: Recorder documentation sources

Hi Gustavo,

The data model can be downloaded here. I can't help with your other two queries though.

Re: Recorder documentation sources

Thanks charlesr

Ill give it a try.

From what i can see no SDK or .net documentation for development of add-ins is available, which is a piety.

Hopefully in a near future they (dorset soft) will develpod one, this would increase the add-ins creation.

Regards.

Re: Recorder documentation sources

There is actually some guidance for add-in developers available. See here. It's fairly old now and I don't know how much of it applies to Recorder 6. It's better than nothing, though.

Re: Recorder documentation sources

Although on the Recorder 2002 downloads page, this documentation does actually describe the COM based API for developing Recorder 6 addins, not Recorder 2002 addins.

When we update any API functions we also keep the documentation up to date which we make available to JNCC in order to provide the downloads.

NB the link should be: http://forums.nbn.org.uk/uploads.php. Though knowing the name of the document or even the actual url would have been better.

Re: Recorder documentation sources

I couldn't actually find in the forum upload section, but fortunately I had a copy here, so I've uploaded it:

http://forums.nbn.org.uk/uploads.php?file=Developing_Addons_(API).zip

Hopefully that should work.
