Re: For information - removal of 'empty' taxon occurrences

Hi

Just thought I would post this up as it wasn't something that I was personally aware of before.

If you have any taxon occurrences which do not have a corresponding taxon determination, these 'empty' taxon occurrences are removed by the import wizard when you import any file (as part of the process validates the data in the database and removes any occurrences that do not have determinations (during 'Removing invalid records')).

You can potentially have taxon occurrences without taxon determinations if for example there was a problem with the taxon determination when data was transferred from Recorder 2002 to Recorder 6.

If you do come across this during data transfer, you need to take a note of both the entries in Taxon_Determination table that haven't transfered and their associated entries in the Taxon_Occurrence table if you plan to resolve these issues (potentially add them) at a later date.
