Topic: blank page user registration

Good day, i'm hitting in a very big problem, that's when an user try to register (when hit the submit button), he/she gets a blank page with http error 500. The problem is after the update with http://indicia.googlecode.com/files/ins … -0.8.2.zip over Drupal 6.26 update to 6.30 (i copied the content over the existing but surely it was not the right way, so please guide me). I have seen there are other updates here http://www.indicia.org.uk/downloads but how to doing the right update? But above all, any idea how to solve the http 500 error? if i try to create an user inside drupal from admin backend, all works fine so it's the user/register page/module not to work correctly but i have no idea how to solve...
Thanks

Re: blank page user registration

Hi,

I think John is pretty sure he has fixed the 500 error in the latest update (0.9.0) from the downloads page - http://www.indicia.org.uk/downloads. I would run that update and see if it fixes it.

Re: blank page user registration

Hi Carlo,
You need to visit the new downloads page at http://www.indicia.org.uk/downloads, then download the files "indicia_features for Drupal 6" and "Indicia forms for Drupal 6" which will both be for version 0.9.0. Unzip both these files so that you have a folder called iform and one called indicia_features. Copy these to your sites/all/modules folder. Although probably not required, it is worth visiting your site's update.php script (in the site root) and following the steps through to make sure any database updates are applied.

I don't specifically know of the http error 500 you are referring to, but if it comes from Indicia code then it is likely a full upgrade will fix it as this code version is definitely not doing that elsewhere. If you still get the error then let me know the link and I'll see if I can spot something.
Best wishes

Re: blank page user registration

Good day, i solved my "blank page" error, it was due a setting in user registration which tried to send a mail with generated password to user. i unset the checkbox and error disappeared!

Re: blank page user registration

Thanks to everyone!
I have a question, related to approval users... I remember that once users were in "block" state and admin could approve or not him/her but now i have seen the user is active even without approval... THis cause a big problem with spammer... is there any check i can see?
