Topic: Downloading Dosbox

I wish to use Recorder 3 on my PC running Windows 7 64-bit. On starting the download of Dosbox v 0.74, I'm informed that the default destination folder is C:\Program Files (x86).  Should I accept this or browse to C:\Program Files and download Dosbox there instead, or does it not matter?

Re: Downloading Dosbox

Hi Bob

I installed it into the default folder C:\Program Files (x86) and it runs fine from there.  I use a shortcut to run a .conf file which starts Recorder - which makes it very easy.  If you send me an email to andy@andyfoyconsulting.co.uk I'll email it to you.

Re: Downloading Dosbox

Thanks for your offer of help, Andy.  I have received a conf file and a bat file from Charlie Barnes for the purpose of starting Recorder3 from the Dosbox, so I'm alright on that score.  Are you using Windows 7 64-bit? I understand that C:\Program Files is the location for 64-bit files and C:\Program Files (x86) is the location for 32-bit files.  What I don't know is whether it makes any difference whether my PC runs on Windows 64-bit or 32-bit.

Re: Downloading Dosbox

Yes, I'm running on Windows 7 64bit.  As DosBox is 32bit it should go in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder.
