Topic: dictionary upgrade sequence

Sorry for asking my question if, as I expect, there is already an answer somewhere on the forum.
I have reinstalled a standalone version of R6 (v.6.15.4) from disk and upgraded it to 6.19.4.267. The dictionary needs to be upgraded from Q to 1S.  Can I extract all the various upgrades to the scripts folder and then run the whole lot by double-clicking the DictionaryUpgrade.exe file once?
I shan't forget to rebuild the indexes afterwards.

I have done this and it does work.  This will take a while so be patient. If it goes over 4 hours then this is probably too long and you may have to consider breaking it up.

Re: dictionary upgrade sequence

Dunnit. Many thanks, Mike.  In view of your comment about it possibly being a lengthy process, I decided to split the task into two.  Upgrading from dictionary R to 14 and rebuilding the indexes took just under an hour so I carried on with 15 to 1S, which took just over an hour. So two hours in total, and with an oldish PC that has only moderate processing power. By the way, am I correct in thinking that the process would be no faster if one were to remove earlier upgrade files from the scripts folder before running additional upgrades?

Re: dictionary upgrade sequence

The process ignores earlier  files so there is no advantage in removing them.  It was really only necessary to rebuild the index files once after 0000001S  had been processed. Very good performance from your PC.
