A heads up for anyone interested. I've added a new field called samples.input_form to the SVN trunk and 0.8.2 branch. The idea is to capture the path to the input form used to create a record, so that websites which support multiple forms like iRecord can easily load the correct data entry form for editing.

There is also code in the iform module to automatically set this field.
