Topic: Record verification

I am keen to understand how records entered on our university recording website can be verified as it is unlikely that we will have the resources here to verify records ourselves. Am I correct in saying that as we are using the BRC warehouse our records can be verified by setting up a website agreement with iRecord? If so we would be very interested in doing this! We would of course be more than happy for our records to appear on iRecord.
If records are to be verified through iRecord, can they appear as unverified on our website before this has been done? If they are then verified (or not), is their status automatically updated on our website?

Re: Record verification

Hi

You are correct. Records shared with iRecord are available to be verified there. They appear on iRecord and may be used by local record centres or schemes with an interest in what you have recorded. I'm a bit vague about that - David Roy is your man in charge of that stuff.

Each record (occurrence) in the database has a single verification field so, if that is changed in iRecord, it will be reflected elsewhere, e.g. on your own website. What you display on your website is determined by your choice of report. So, you can work it any way you want.
