Topic: bug reports - Tempdb full

Hi,

We have been getting this error everytime we try to export large surveys or run certian reports on all of our computers. We are on a corporate network so I assume it has something to do with the server space allocated for the tempdb.mdf & tempdb.ldf, but am not sure if this is the case or how to fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Simplest thing to try would be to restart SQL Server then try again.
Then check that the disk which hosts SQL Server has enough disk space.

It might also be worth using SQL Server Management Studio, or the relevant SQL commands, to check the properties of the transaction log table to see if it is big enough to manage your large requests.  You might need to increase its size, or enable it to grow automatically when needed.

In the case of Tempdb, restarting the server will clear down the transaction log and enable the system to operate again, but until the size is increased it will probably run out of space everytime these large exports and reports are run.
